Texas River School recently began a partnership with I Live Here, I Give Here and are excited at the prospective opportunity to raise awareness of other non-profits in Austin and to raise funding for our programs.
Live Here, Give Here is a non-profit that partners with area non-profits (including counties Bastrop, Travis, Williamson, and several more) to create cohesion amongst non-profits that will hopefully work synergetically to increase awareness for multiple causes. As their mission statement proclaims:
“to deepen and expand the culture of personal philanthropy by inspiring Central Texans to invest more money in our community. [They] educate and connect individuals and non-profits so more Central Texans experience the personal benefit of increased philanthropy.”
I am personally thrilled to be a part of this organization because I love being around likeminded people and groups. This doesn’t mean that I like the same type of outdorr educational groups – more that our organizations are merely trying to heighten awareness and therefore empathy for humankind, nature, etc. And although I beleve that moderation is a beutiful thing in life, I also truly believe that empathy is so much more enlightening than apathy. That is my view however – so don’t quote Texas River School on that. 🙂
Check out their site and their upcoming Amplify Austin Campaign – “a community-wide day of online philanthropy with the goal of raising $1 million in 24-hours for nonprofits in Central Texas.”
